The provider inserts a transducer in the urethra for transurethral ultrasound ablation (TULSA) of prostate tissue. The provider may also insert a tube above the pubic bone for bladder drainage and may place an endorectal cooling device to protect surrounding tissues during the ablation. The provider performs the ablation and uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance for the service.
