Leonta Williams

Leonta Williams joined ÐÇ¿ÕÈë¿Úas Education Director in 2021 and has over 20 years of experience working in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. Her area of expertise includes coding, CDI, auditing, physician and staff training/education, operations, process improvement, and compliance. She has served on local, organizational, and national boards providing expertise across all aspects of the healthcare business and is the Founder of the Covington, GA Local ÐÇ¿ÕÈë¿ÚChapter. Lee currently sits on the AMA CPT Assistant Editorial Board and has provided coding oversight services to organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Industrial Economics (IE). A strong advocate for continued learning, Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management and dual Master of Business and Healthcare Administration degrees.

Courtney Tito

Courtney G. Tito, is a Shareholder with Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney, P.C.. She is Board Certified in Health Law by the Florida Bar. Courtney counsels clients in federal and commercial payor audits, disputes and investigations. She also counsel clients regarding revocations and payment suspensions and in responding to federal subpoenas and civil investigative demands. Courtney counsels clients in regulatory and compliance matters at both federal and state levels. Courtney represents a variety of provider types, including laboratories, pathologists, physicians, and physician groups. She also regularly speaks on regulatory, audit and payor disputes.

Reid Pearlman

Reid is an independent healthcare regulatory compliance consultant. He serves a variety of healthcare clients, providing advice and guidance on legal and regulatory matters. Prospectively, Reid assesses corporate compliance programs. He also serves as a fractional designated Compliance Officer, developing new strategic initiatives, and overseeing compliance program administration. He regularly advises stakeholders at all levels, including boards, executive leaders, physicians, and clinical and administrative staff. Responsively, Reid assists clients who have been prosecuted with meeting their integrity agreement obligations. Reid has dedicated his career to healthcare regulatory and legal compliance. Prior to nearly a decade working as an independent consultant, he held a range of legal, compliance and risk management roles at Prospira Paincare (now part of National Spine), Georgia Cancer Specialists (now part of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute), and Mag Mutual Insurance Company, a national professional liability carrier. Reid holds the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) designation from the Health Care Compliance Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Cleveland State University.

Madisyn Schmitz

Madisyn Schmitz is a dynamic healthcare attorney with a diverse background in health information management and healthcare administration She currently practices at Marting Law, LLC, where she advises healthcare organizations on regulatory matters, employment law issues, and operational compliance. With a robust academic foundation, including a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, a Master’s in Health Services Administration, and a Bachelor’s in Health Information Management, Madisyn brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her work. She is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), further enhancing her ability to address the complexities of the healthcare industry. Madisyn has extensive experience navigating regulatory environments, drafting policies, and creating educational tools to communicate complex compliance requirements effectively. In addition to her legal practice, Madisyn is passionate about advocating for healthcare policy reforms. She has authored scholarly articles on reducing violence in healthcare through policy changes and has delivered presentations on workforce dynamics and healthcare career pathways. She is dedicated to empowering organizations to address challenges, align with regulatory requirements, and enhance patient care quality.

Lee Williams has more than 15 years health information management (HIM) experience as a coding director, auditor, educator, trainer, practice manager, and mentor. Williams has provided coding leadership and oversight on programs sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Center for Health Statistics, the U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission, and Industrial Economics, Inc. She has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, CDI, and risk management. Williams is a frequent speaker and is published at the national level. She is founder of the Covington, Georgia, local chapter and serves as the 2018 president.
