Telehealth in the Spring of 2025 - What Do We Know? Webinar

Learn more about this event

Many changes to telehealth services were expected with the new CPT codes for services in 2025. What was not expected was CMS/Medicare to not accept the new codes. It was also unexpected for Congress to pass legislation that only approved the waivers and exceptions for a few months and not the entire year. They first approved them for only three months and then again for six months, which only takes us until the end of September of 2025. What does that mean?

Understanding how to use the new CPT® codes for telehealth and dealing with the challenges that CMS/Medicare’s coding for telehealth visits can be confusing. Both types of coding will be explained in detail to give the listener the best information we know as of today.

Learning Objectives/Agenda

• CPT’s new codes for telehealth services – what are they and how to use them
• Documentation of CPT’s new telehealth codes – what is needed
• CMS/Medicare and telehealth services – what codes, modifiers and place of services are supposed to be used
• Which new CPT code is CMS/Medicare allowing in 2025
• What are payment levels for the new CPT telehealth service codes

Why is this topic important?

Confusion over how to code, bill and document for telehealth services in 2025 is more confusing than ever for many offices. Understanding whose rules require which codes and modifiers is important to ensure proper payment. Documentation of the differing rules of telehealth services can be challenging to providers without education and a plan for the process.

Who would benefit from this topic?

• Coders
• Billers
• Accounts Receivable
• Office Managers
• Office Administrators
